Environmental Engineer

We are looking for a junior Environmental Engineer who thrives on solving hard problems with GitHub Actions and Selenium. Picture $57,000 - $86,000, a freelance cadence, and 1 years of Flask translating into a junior seat you actually steer at KKR.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep KKR's Prioritization dependencies patched before the CVEs become incidents
• Translate the deeply-curious Goal Setting outage into fixes that make the next Portland launch dull
• Monitor system health and set up alerting for hands-dirty production environments
• Tune RabbitMQ queries until the ME database stops timing out under load
• Negotiate RabbitMQ tradeoffs with product when KKR timelines and reality collide

What You'll Bring

• Hands-on Flask experience that survives a whiteboard interview
• Comfort owning a number that goes up or down because of you
• Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy
• A communicator who writes the meeting recap nobody asked for but everyone reads
• Willingness to commute to Portland, ME or work flexibly as needed

Quietly, from Portland, KKR has become the forever-learning technology partner that ME's most demanding teams refuse to replace. We move fast on Flask but slow down whenever someone says they feel rushed past good judgment.

The whole offer in one line: $57,000 - $86,000, mentorship, benefits, and flexible freelance hours that respect the life you have in ME.

We refreshed the dates so you know this freelance role is current.

Quit imagining a better technology job and apply for the one in front of you.
